2013 and 2014

Voyage of Discovery was shown at the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Washington, DC, and then traveled in modified form to the McLean Project for the Arts in McLean, VA. The artists imagined a trip to the polar region, to the precise location where the ice is melting, the tundra disappearing, and the glaciers receding due to global warming. Every year this location moves further as the polar region shrinks. Ellyn’s work imagined the creatures that had been under ice for millennia as they become exposed. Are they benign? threatening? dangerous? We have no idea, and this process cannot be stopped now.
