THE ONE HOUSE PROJECT
Touchstone Gallery (2017) and Black Rock Arts Center (2018)
The One House Project (2017 and 2018) was a large collaboration of artists committed to a vision of this country where we are united as one people, rather than divided against each other by race, gender, religion, class, or any other artificial fault line. The first house was constructed and covered with 220 panels, each dedicated to an artists' ancestor who came to this country, voluntarily or involuntarily, or was here before the arrival of Europeans and Africans. The second was a larger house involving 300 artists. The houses make a powerful visual statement that the strength of this country is in its diversity.
